The Digital KVM extension system consists of two parts: the Add in PCI card transmitter and the remote Desktop unit. Depending on the model selected, the link bewteen these two units is either via a single twsietd pair cable or a fibre optic connection.

The system extends the PCI bus from inside the computer up to approximately 100m over the link to the desktop receiver. Again, depending on the model selected, the desktop receiver can accomodate a third party PCI card of your choice. Typically, this would be a multi-headed graphics card. Some models are fitted with embedded graphics chips sets leaving the desktop PCI slot free for other duties such as high end audio cards.
