DXPC
PC-over-IP dual-head host card, embedded GPU
Overview
The DXPC is a PC-over-IP® based host with an embedded MXM
graphics module designed to be installed in a standard
PCIe expansion slot.
It is perfect for use with any computer that must be moved away
from the workplace and installs into a spare PCIe slot replacing
the existing graphics card.
A unique feature of this card is it's high end, dual head, MXM
graphics module which supports widescreen monitors and
provides excellent 2 and 3D performance at all resolutions.
Multiple DXPC cards can be fitted to a workstation and linked to
provide support for additional video heads. For example, a typical scenario
would be to install two of these cards to provide a quad-head
PC-over-IP remote solution.
When linked to a suitable Amulet Hotkey portal (DXR-iP, DXR2-iP ro DXR4-iP) it allows a user's computer to be located remotely, or 'back-racked', away from the work
environment.
Back-racking has a number of benefits in the workplace:
- reduced noise and heat at the desktop
- reduced load on workplace air-conditioning equipment
- reduced demand for power in the workplace
- computing resources can be centralised
- break /fix times become shorter
- security is enhanced
- hardware reliability is improved
PC-over-IP based solutions save power, reduce operating costs
and help to make the workplace a quieter, more productive
environment.
