DXR-iP
Ultra-compact PC-over-IP® Portal
Details
The DXR-iP supports 2 widescreen displays (1920 x 1200), all USB devices and high definition audio.
It is a ‘stateless’ or ‘zero client’ device because, unlike a thin-client, it holds no data and has no accessible operating system to secure or maintain. All USB device authorisation is performed by the Zero-client ‘out of band’ preventing malicious access to the remote workstation.
The DXR-iP is much smaller and uses far less power than a typical workstation or thin-client (less than 13W excluding USB peripherals) and contributes little heat or noise to the working environment.
It is easily configured using an on screen menu and, depending on network quality and bandwidth, provides the user with a ‘perception free’ computing experience. When linked to a suitable remote host such as the Amulet Hotkey DXLT or DXPC, it allows a user's computer to be located remotely - 'back-racked'- away from the work environment.
Back-racking has a number of benefits in the workplace:
- reduced noise and heat at the desktop
- reduced load on workplace air-conditioning equipment
- reduced demand for power in the workplace
- computing resources can be centralised
- break /fix times become shorter
- security is enhanced
- hardware reliability is improved
PCoIP based solutions save power, reduce operating costs and help to make the workplace a quieter, more productive environment.
