Senior Network Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Network Engineer to be responsible for the networking infrastructure of our sites in the UK and abroad including the management of Internet connectivity and inter-site connectivity. You will have the opportunity to utilise your expertise through the provision of network consultancy to our pre and post-sales support teams including the setting up of demonstration capabilities to allow potential customers to try out our solutions and products.

The Role

The main elements of your role will be:

• Establish the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, and defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
• Design and implement new solutions and improve resilience of the current environment.
• Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with network architects on network optimisation.
• Undertake data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments using information from multiple sources.
• Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access.
• Support and administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy.
• Report network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing projects.
• Upgrade data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases.
• Configure routing and switching equipment, hosted IP voice services and firewalls.
• Provide support to on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation.
• Provide troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur upon initial installation.
• Undertake capacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices within data centers.

Your other duties will also include:

• Collaborate with and support Amulet Hotkey’s reseller and networking partners.
• Assist partners/customers with network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Comfortable working with Amulet Hotkey’s partners/customers.

Ideally you will have:

• Demonstrable experience of working at a senior level within a similar role.
• Remote working – PCoIP, Citrix, VMware Blast, RDP etc.
• VMWare – Data Centre Virtualization
• Cloud – AWS, Google, Azure
• SD-WAN
• Real Time Protocols
• SaaS, PaaS, IaaS
• Degree in computer science, information systems, information technology or a related industry experience.
• CCNP, CCIE (Enterprise Infrastructure, Data Centre, Security, Service Provider)
• CCDE
• JNCIP, JNCIE (DC, ENT, SEC, SP)
