File name: CoreStation HX Firmware 2025.10.2_GA Description: System Management Firmware for CoreStation HX Version: Oct 2025 Type: System Firmware Release date: 30 Oct 2025 Previous Release: 2025.8.4_GA Relevant platforms: CoreStation HX5/N120 Contact: support@amulethotkey.com Installation instructions: 1. Extract archive 2. Upload firmware bundle to CoreStation Management Controller 3. Follow on-screen instructions New features in this release - Refer to the CoreStation HX user guide for further details Management Console login using LDAP domain users (Beta) The Management Controller can be configured to authenticate user logins with a local User Directory server using the LDAP protocol. Typically this would be an On-premise Microsoft Active Directory service. Network Time Server Configuration Provides the option to specify a network time server (NTP) to use for keeping system time updated. The time server can be either an on-premise or cloud-based resource. Enclosure time and User time The enclosure and users can be assigned different time zones matching their physical location. Management controller views which shows time can now be switched between enclosure time and user time to easier understand when events happened. Configuration using Serial Console The front and rear enclosure serial console ports provide a simple text interface to query the enclosure status and set the network configuration. This is intended for initial enclosure setup before a network connection is established. Other changes in this release Signed Firmware for Nodes The Workstation Nodes are programmed with immutable, one-time-programmable keys which are used to verify the signature of the firmware on every boot. Pre-production nodes are not programmed with appropriate keys and so will fail to initialise when the enclosure is running 2025.8.4 or later. Issues resolved in this release Key Summary CSHD-1561 Invalid entries in LDAP configuration results in complete user lock out of Management Console Known issues in this release Key Summary CSHD-1288 Certificate Signing Request is generated with incorrect CN The process of uploading the signed CSR to the Management Console will fail because the Common Name of the certificate. As a workaround, remove “cmc-” from the hostname of the Management Controller CSHD-1170 Loss of display output on startup with specific monitors when switching to Windows GPU drivers For some local monitors connected to HX2000, BIOS POST messages are visible, but the Windows boot process and login screen display a blank image. CSHD-1619 Uploading an HTTPS Cert signed via Windows CA web GUI results in complete user lock out of Management Console The management controller must be reset to factory settings in this case. As a workaround, use the local certificate signing tool on the CA server, rather than the web-based singing tool. CSHD-1268 Management Console sometimes fails to get ip address from dhcp due to switch config timeout The management controller sometimes fails to startup correctly due to an internal configuration issue, so will automatically reboot and try again. This is due to an internal system issue and does not depend on external network conditions. CSHD-767 Management Console has open network ports for internal monitoring services Several monitoring and debug services are exposed on the management controller network port, specifically ports 2812, 5672 and 6378. CSHD-1545 HX2000 node running Windows 11 Pro is unresponsive after a being idle for several days When using Citrix VDA with Windows 11 Pro, some nodes become completely unresponsive when left idle for several days and require a power cycle. CSHD-1622 Management Controller can take up to 5 minutes from power on to show login page The Serial Console and Management Controller loading page are available within 30 seconds, but the login page can take up to 5 minutes following a power on or reboot CSHD-1524 Firmware blurbs are all identical On the Firmware Information page, the summary of changes is generic text and does not reflect the actual changes in each version. Consult the release notes for details of the changes. CSHD-1569 SSH Special Access feature is enabled after firmware update. Disable on reboot The SSH special access feature is intended for diagnostics and recovery in exceptional situations under guidance from Amulet Hotkey Support. After a firmware update, it should be manually disabled. CSHD-1071 Management console reports IP of the gateway, not the IP of the user's machine for successful logins In the user events log, user authentication events record the IP address of the network gateway for the local subnet of the Management Controller. Other fields in the log entry are not affected. CSHD-1546 Occasional network link drops when using pass-through connection on fabric 1B at 2.5G CSHD-1400 Node network passthrough connection sees false link down/up events when connected at 10M or 100M The network link is stable in all cases and this does not affect functionality, but the Management Console reporting suggests the link is dropping and re-establishing. CSHD-1547 Windows Installer buttons are off-screen due to low resolution during install process During Windows 11 interactive install, the buttons are off-screen, but can be used to move between buttons. Non-interactive installs are not affected. CSHD-1000 Usernames with non-alphanumeric characters appear as encoded strings in event exports Usernames are shown correctly within the Management Controller, but are shown as an encoded string in the export. The username strings are still unique and refer to the correct user.
